Hi,
To help keep your emails organized, you can create subfolders or personal folders by using the New Folder tool. Here's how: Working with message folders in Outlook on the web.
Note: Follow the steps provided under Create a new folder.
Feel free to post back should you have further concerns.

Hi Jericho,
Many thanks for your reply, I do appreciate your help.
I did go to the link but the information on it was specific for lap top or a computer where you have a more detailed view of your inbox wth more features and the ability to double click or right and left click wth a mouse.
I am on the outlook app on an iPad and the screen view that I see is different that when on a laptop. I can't see where you can click on a folder to add a subfolder on the iPad. I can do it no problem on a laptop ( I just don't have it wth me at the moment as I'm travelling) but still need to organise my mails! I'm new to using an iPad so I'm not aware of all its capabilities. Maybe there are just not as many options or facilities when on the app on an iPad?
Once again thanks for your help!

I think he says clearly IPAD. which means ios, not android.
I have read all the replies to this question and nobody has given a correct answer. The imap folders created on the computer DO NOT SHOW on the app.
Clearly it is a fault with the app that you should fix and not redirect to links that go nowhere. Getting tired of no straight answer.
Just admit. IT DOESNT WORK on the app.

If an IMAP type mail account and you are unable to add a folder in your device, you access your mail a/c via web browser access and add it their, then since IMAP is a cache copy of what is on the server your device mail will sync with the server.
If that fails to sync then your device has a problem

Then what's the use of the app?
I already use the folders on the computer and all is fine. The problem is on the app. BOTH on iphone and on the ipad so clearly the device is not the problem.
It just doesn't show up and there is no option to see them, just the FOCUSED (doubtful use) inbox and others.
Can you explain WHERE they should appear.
Thank you
J.

Well there is an option to see the folders , but rather manualy.
Clicking on the 3 dashes on the top left corner on the app, then click on the red circle (exchange) and it shall show the folders for you.
However, emails on those folders will not be highlighted on the focused view (that is quite terrible)

Select the email you want to move. Touch the file folder with arrow icon at the bottom to move file. When the "Move Conversation" screen appears there is a file folder with a plus sign icon in the upper right corner, when you touch this it will ask the name of the new folder.

Why can't Microsoft specifically answer questions rather than put the customer service burden on users to go to large files and attempt to find an answer?
